Clothes press
Folded linen was 'ironed' between the wooden boards of the clothes press. The heating system can be seen at the fireplace; the stoves in the rooms were served from the anteroom. The ornamental tablet with views of the city and portrait of Emperor Joseph II is a souvenir of the coronation celebrations in Frankfurt, witnessed by Goethe in 1764.
